Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital

Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital

2am Wednesday, October 28th my Kiki Jerome woke me up by standing right by my face, she always sleeps by my feet. She was having an extremely hard time breathing (she has been suffering from an enlarged heart for almost 2 years). The only place that could help was Allied. I got her there about 240am, had to wait about 10 minutes. From the moment they took me and Kiki back I was treated with the utmost respect and kindness. The doctor came in and explained they had to put her in an oxygen crate to help her breath, explained that she would need to be admitted, get all these machines, etc. My sweet girl was 14 1/2 years old. I knew I could not put her through that, so we discussed the worst option, but the best option for Kiki. Allied provided so much love, respect, empathy, and concern for me and Kiki that I almost felt like family. They allowed us to be together for as long as we wanted before saying goodbye, I was allowed to “hold” her while saying goodbye (she was in the oxygen crate because her breathing was really bad), the doctor explained that Kiki had already started showing signs of leaving this earth on her own and it was a good thing we were doing this because it would’ve been a very painful death for her. The whole time the doctor was caressing Kiki’s paw and telling her what a good girl she was and how much she was loved as I sat there and bawled my eyes out. The doctor gave me as much time as I wanted with her, and was very empathetic when I was ready to leave. Many have said they have had horrible experiences or they are too expensive. I say I’m sorry they feel that way, because what I experienced was nothing but exceptional care at a reasonable price.
