Admittedly, I’m skeptical about whether United will return to the airport. Yeah, they failed previously mostly due to COVID, but I can’t imagine too many people are really clamoring to fly to Houston. And based off the lackluster early results of the Breeze flight to Raleigh, I’m not sure United will be convinced just because the city can cover some start-up costs.

This quote from Director of Aviation David Pollard was very telling about the early results for Breeze:

Pollard said that, so far, the North Carolina route is not performing as well as expected.

“We hope to raise those Raleigh-Durham numbers as much as we can,” Pollard said. “We ask the traveling public to please consider using this service. It’s very important that we use this service once it’s established.”
