i’ve been applying to state jobs on peoplefirst since i moved to town back in 2024 and realized how hard it is to actually get a call back. i’ve even gotten a rejection email this month from a job posting from over two years ago.
i’ve done the works: fixed my resume, wrote a cover letter, called places after applying, anything i could think of. i’m just not sure how everyone is getting calls back or even getting interviews.
i’m working currently, but i need something with health insurance and stable hours. any advice or suggestions would be lovely.
edit: as mentioned, forgot to post about experience and what i’m looking for.
i have experience working with the public, data entry, customer service, writing code, and program coordination. this was all working at a public library in alabama for a bit. i’ve just been applying to OPS positions because im currently in school for information technology (all online so my availability is open) and plan on transferring to work on library science.
