I live in Tallahassee, and I’ve only been employed by the state of Florida for my whole career – not for lack of trying.

I finally have a job opportunity that isn’t with state government but I’m worried about the loss of benefits. My potential new job will have benefits, but CHP seems to be unmatched in how easy and affordable it is, so I’m conflicted on whether it’s worth it. So my question is, is there anyone who has gone from state employment to private sector in Tallahassee, and how was it dealing with the insurance switch?
