Why does it feel so hard to get a job here?

I (26f) moved from SWGA to Tallahassee with my partner last year because of his job promoting him and relocating us. Before moving I was a shipping and receiving coordinator, but my company didn’t have a site nearby, and after about a month I found a decent little office job here in Tally. I worked there until the company started doing layoffs. (They sold the company officially about 3-4 months after I left and screwed a bunch of employees, so I jumped ship right in time). I found a new position in sales management and have worked this position for about 7 going on 8 months. Recently I’ve decided Im going to go back to school so I can pivot out of sales and into office management, admin, operations type roles. However, with my son starting school this year and the demanding schedule at my job I’ve been looking to find a part time job. I’ve applied to jobs I’m qualified for and jobs I’m totally overqualified for and I’ve gotten rejection after rejection. I’ve scrolled indeed to death, applied to a bunch of stuff, wrote cover letters, called, popped up to put a face with the resume, and nothing has come from it. Most recently I applied to a McDonald’s as a last ditch effort & I got a rejection text one day later. -_- I feel like I had more opportunities in my very small hometown in Georgia… at this point I want to know if it’s me or if there is something seriously wrong with the hiring process here in tally ? Why’s it so hard to get a job ??
