Long before it became the Blockbuster Video of cities under 10,000 in population, Movie Gallery started as a small Florida based chain that franchised its name to people who wanted to operate a video store. After the movie rental bubble burst in the late 80s, the Movie Gallery name and logo were taken over by Joe Malugen and Harrison Parrish, owners of the Dothan franchise, who used the success of that store to start going after smaller cities and towns. The rest, as they say, is movie history!
