Florida A&M University has appointed a new interim athletic director. The school made the announcement Wednesday.
The school says Vice President for Finance and Administration Michael Smith will stepped into the role on Monday, Oct. 6.
FAMU says the former interim AD Travis Glasgow is leaving the university.
A former deputy athletic director, Glasgow took over the position with Brittney Johnson after former athletic director Angela Suggs was charged with grand theft and fraud over the summer.
Smith is a former FAMU football player and has served at the university for more than 3 decades. He also served as the assistant vice president for athletics at one point.
