Florida A&M University will host a series of events in celebration of Black History Month. Among the highlights is a conversation with FAMU alum Jerry Lorenzo, founder of the “Fear of God” label. The Harambee Festival returns with its showcase of local talent and vendors.

Historic Union Bank Museum Reopening, Feb. 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A new exhibit highlighting the importance of the Union Bank in Florida’s History will be on display. It was created in collaboration with the Meek-Eaton Black Archives at Florida A&M University. Union Bank 219 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Florida 32301. Admission is free.
HBCU Choral Festival, Feb. 11, at 3:45 p.m., Lee Hall Auditorium with performances by Alabama State University, Tuskegee University, Mississippi Valley State University and host, Florida A&M University. Admission is free.
Black History Month Conversation: February 20 at 6 p.m., in Lee Hall Auditorium with Jerry Lorenzo, FAMU alumnus and founder of the high-end “Fear of God” label, will share insights on his journey to becoming one of America’s top fashion designers.
FAMU Day at the Capitol, February 21. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other stakeholders will converge on the Capitol to engage with legislators about the University’s legislative priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.

Harambee Festival: Saturday, February 24, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., in Cascades Park. Entertainment will include Black artists, musicians, dancers, storytellers, highlighting African culture, music and art. Enjoy a day filled with lively performances, vendors selling traditional and modern goods, and community spirit celebrating African American contributions to Tallahassee and beyond. Admission is free.
