As February comes to an end, FAMU Athletics is still strong with a fresh slate of important events and games taking place this week.
FAMU Softball
Florida A&M’s softball team has been running on a hot streak, winning the last six of their eight games. Their overall record is now 7-6 by turning things around after a rocky start to the season.
The rattlers were 3-2 in the FIU tournament last weekend in Miami. With two dominant wins against Eastern Illinois and one win against Incarnate Word but falling short against FIU and losing their second matchup against Incarnate Word
With a Tallahassee showdown in the near future, the Rattlers look to use this momentum against the Florida State Seminoles this Wednesday at 3 p.m. to keep the hot streak rolling.
The Rattlers will travel to Orlando for a five-game stretch. Starting Friday, Feb. 27, the Rattlers will face George Washington at 3 p.m. following a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 28 against Wagner at 9 a.m. Finally, the Rattlers will then go up against Dartmouth at 11:30 a.m.
To finish the weekend, they will take on George Washington on Sunday at 11 a.m. with a match immediately after against UCF at 1:00 p.m.

FAMU Baseball
Rattlers baseball starts off the season sitting at 1-5 overall and 0-2 in SWAC play. With a big week ahead, Head Coach Jamey Shouppe looks to turn things around and build some momentum in the second week of this baseball season.
After FAMU’s game against Southern got rained out on Sunday, they prepare for a two-game set against the Mercer Bears on Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. and Feb. 25 at 4 p.m.
The Rattlers will return home for a three-game series against the Central Connecticut Blue Devils. With the first pitch at 4 P.M on Feb. 27, followed by a double header on Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., the Rattlers look to get their second win of the season.

FAMU Men’s Basketball
After coming off a dominant 76-63 win vs. Alabama State last Saturday, the Rattlers aim to add wins to their SWAC record with conference play coming to an end.
With two road games this week in Louisiana, the Rattlers make their way down to Baton Rouge to keep hopes alive for the SWAC tournament. The first game tips off Thursday, Feb. 26 at 8:30 p.m. against the Southern Jags following a Saturday night matchup against Grambling State on Feb 28 at 7:30 p.m.

FAMU Women’s Basketball
The FAMU women’s basketball team, currently 7-19, is looking to snap a four-game losing streak before the chance at a SWAC tournament run slips away. With a record of 6-9 in conference play, they are very much still in the running.
The team will head to Baton Rouge for a game against Southern on Thursday, Feb. 26 with a 6:00 p.m. EST tip-off. The road games continue as they finish the weekend against Grambling State at 3 p.m. EST on Saturday, Feb. 28.

FAMU Men’s Golf
The dominant Rattlers golf team kicks off the 2026 season with the ARCIS HBCU championship in Weston, Florida this week. Head coach Mike Rice looks to build on the success of last year as many athletes return from last year.
The two-day event began Sunday, Feb. 22, with an 8 a.m. tee time and wraps up on Feb. 23 with another 8 a.m. start time.
With a heavy mix of upperclassmen and emerging freshman, FAMU’s lineup is looking to lower their overall round averages as they continue in early spring competition.

FAMU Bowling
After competing in the Southern Queens Tournament last week in Baton Rouge, the FAMU bowling team will make their way to Greensboro, North Carolina to play in the Stallings Invitational.
